UPDATE: On Tuesday August 26, Jeezy and five members of his entourage plead not guilty to charges of possessing an illegal assault weapon at the Superior Court in Newport Beach, CA. There is a pretrial hearing scheduled for Friday September 5. Jeezy remains at the Orange County Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana. His bail was set at $1 million.
Late Friday evening, victim Eric Johnson was fatally shot and a Wiz Khalifa concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. The rapper’s Saturday show was subsequently canceled and he took to Twitter to express his condolences to Johnson’s family.
Today police are reporting that they made multiple arrests when the tour continued on Sunday evening at Verizon Amphitheatre in Irving — among the group was Khalifa’s tour mate, hip-hop artist Young Jeezy. Although the police stated that they believed the group was not responsible for Friday’s death, all arrests were firearms-related. The type of firearms involved was not specified.
This is the third arrest in 2014 for Jeezy. In early January, he turned himself in on charges of battery, false imprisonment and terroristic threats in regards to a 2012 fight with his son, and again three weeks later on charges of obstruction.
As of this afternoon, Jeezy is still being held at Orange County Central Jail on $1 million bail.
