“Anyone who ever said they liked our older records more than Painful,” Yo La Tengo frontman Ira Kaplan said at Ohio University last year, “I just told them they’re wrong.”

He won’t have to say much soon; not when the band’s set to release an expanded reissue of the 1993 album on December 2 through Matador. Presented as part of their 30th anniversary along with career-spanning shows in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, the 2xLP/2xCD set features 12 bonus tracks, including demos, acoustic takes and a couple live cuts. The vinyl pressing also tacks on a bonus 7”, a reproduction of the record’s original “band-aid” sticker, and the first YLT Gazette paper in 14 years.

Check out cover art and a complete tracklisting below, along with the dates and details for Yo La Tengo’s tour and a live film score collaboration with documentarian Sam Green.
