Despite the unfortunate events that occurred this past weekend on Wiz Khalifa’s tour, the hip-hop artist has cause to celebrate today — his fifth studio album, Blacc Hollywood, has reached the top of the Billboard 200 with 90,000 sales this week. (Someone finally managed to knock the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack off of its pedestal.)

This is Khalifa’s first No. 1 album; both Rolling Papers and O.N.I.F.C. peaked at No. 2 when they were released in 2011 and 2012.

2014 has been quite a year for the rapper. Following an arrest for marijuana possession in May, Khalifa dropped the 28 Grams mixtape and joined Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign on a single for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack.

And he has definitely been keeping an eye on the charts. Yesterday evening, he sent out a message to thank his fans via Twitter:

Blacc Hollywood is available now via Rostrum/Atlantic.
