The End is near. Weezer‘s new album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, will arrive September 30, the band has announced in a teaser video (via Stereogum).

The clip, which you can watch at the bottom the of page, also contains some fresh musical snippets from the Rivers Cuomo-led band, including a studio take on the previously performed “Back to the Shack.”

“Rockin’ out like it’s ’94,” Cuomo sings in the full version of the punchy power-pop romp. The description is appropriate: Everything Will Be Alright reunites Weezer with Cars frontman Ric Ocasek for the first time since 2001′s Green Album. (Ocasek also produced the group’s Blue debut way back in, yes, 1994.)

Details on Weezer’s Republic-released follow-up to 2010′s Hurley have been sparse, but the wild-thing cover art deserves to be posted again below. It makes my heart sing.
