As the dance underground continues to debate the very existence of Sophie and his divisive QT project with PC Music founder A.G. Cook, Boiler Room has shared its debut set … if you want to call it that. Presented as part of Hudson Mohawke’s recent LA takeover, the live rendition of their recent “Hey QT” single was more of a performance art piece than a straight-up “show”, right down to the starring role of what’s being touted as QT herself.

You see, QT is not meant to be viewed as a duo featuring Cook and the rising Numbers producer. It’s supposed to be a pop singer produced by the pair, which explains the exclusive interview FACT posted today. In it, she alludes to QT’s raison dêtre (“so far it seems to have raised some interesting questions about identity and authenticity”) and points to her plans for the rest of the year.

“More bubbles I hope,” she said. “We are looking to pop the can on the QT Energy Elixir towards the end of the year. Also XL have promised us a high gloss advert, I mean music video, so we are looking forward to getting to work on that.”
