The images in the video for French singer and producer Franklin’s video appear slowly, woozily: cars moving slowly down a highway give way suddenly to a shot of an oil rig in the ocean; a man seen on a boat suddenly appears hiking along the coastline. He’s joined by a woman. On and on the story unfurls, following the kind of logic that typically occurs in dreams or surrealist romances. It mirrors the mood of the song perfectly: the rhythm chugs slowly and patient as synths settle soft as mist. Franklin’s voice is likewise hushed and distant — a tour guide for a strange journey.
