Nearly a full minute goes by before Al Spx appears in the video for “Absisto,” the first single from the forthcoming Cold Specks record Neuroplasticity, and when she finally does, it’s chilling. She’s sitting cross-legged in the middle of a forest, flanked by two women holding strange occult staffs, and the irises of all of their eyes are completely white. It’s reminiscent of a similar moment in Twin Peaks, a clear indication of dark forces afoot.

The rest of the video is given over to a soldier stumbling through that same forest at night, carrying a mysterious briefcase, in search of an ancient fellow soldier who seems more demon than man. Watch the whole creepy thing below.

[Neuroplasticity will be released on August 26 by Mute Records]
