Hailing from Nashville with their sophomore release on the way, Fly Golden Eagle want to take you on a bizarre trip in their new video. And that’s not even a reference to the band’s ‘70s psych tendencies — though they do, indeed, abound — but a direct quote from band leader Ben Trimble. On “Horse’s Mouth,” he urges, “I’m never bending to the imitations/ Why don’t you come and take a trip with me?” It’s a good question, and the answer surfaces just as the song nears its end. That’s when the quartet loses itself in a funk-infused freak-out, complete with up-tempo, soul jazz piano and groovy rhythm guitar riffs. Below is the video (directed by Joshua Shoemaker) for the track. You can snag Fly Golden Eagle’s new record Quartz from ATO Records on October 14th!
