Greetings! Top of the Morning is your daily AM news round-up. We paid attention overnight and gathered relevant tidbits to share over that first cup of coffee.

Did you know that Taylor Swift’s new album is coming out on Monday? Of course you do. It’s unavoidable. Last night, she made the traffic in L.A. even worse by performing “Shake It Off” in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard for Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Thankfully, no one tossed a sea urchin onto the stage.

Also, seriously, will that girl ever show her belly button?

SPIN pointed out that Gwen Stefani’s new single “Baby Don’t Lie” bears a strange resemble to a song called “Heartbreakfree” from Swedish pop star Ji Nilsson.

Although Nilsson asked her fans to weigh in on the debate, she quickly backtracked once the comments started to draw attention.

However, no one mentioned that Nilsson’s look in her video is total Stefani on the MTV VMAs red carpet circa 1998. So, maybe it all evens out.

Speaking of music television, Nicki Minaj is set to host MTV’s Europe Music Awards on November 9 and she has possibly the world’s greatest promo to set the stage.

We would gladly go see “Anaconda: The Opera” and buy a variety of Minaj-themed merchandise. We’re about a month away from the release of The Pink Print, so this might all be a premonition of what’s to come soon enough.

And finally, in 2014, our Lord’s year of Cultural Appropriation, Bette Midler has brought you a cover of “Waterfalls”; just one track on her new album It’s the Girls! where she also covers the Ronettes, the Marvelettes and the Supremes. Happy Friday.
