Greetings! Top of the Morning is your daily AM news round-up. We paid attention overnight while you were sleeping and gathered relevant tidbits to share over that first cup of coffee.

According to a thread on Reddit, the credits for the new Pink Floyd album have leaked and scientist Stephen Hawking will be featured on a talk called “Talkin’ Hawkin’.” Hawking was also included on the group’s last album The Division Bell for a track called “Keep Talking,” and since the new material for Endless River comes from those sessions, it makes sense that the theoretical physicist and cosmologist is making an appearance again. Word on the street is that Hawking will reveal all the secrets of space, time and the universe if you play the record backwards on the turn table while watching any movie that involves flying monkeys.

Lil Jon is encouraging you to get out there and vote in the midterm elections next month. He lent his skills to Rock the Vote and their new promotional video “#TURNOUTFORWHAT,” where a lot of white people dance awkwardly (Lena Dunham never loses an opportunity to go pantsless) and remind everyone of all the important reasons that you need to get in there and mark up a ballet. Lil Jon, of course, is turning out for marijuana legalization. Fred Armisten continues to be creepy.

Park & Recs star Aziz Ansari swung by Late Night with David Letterman to talk about his relationship with Chef Courtney McBroom and how his girlfriend has really made him think about his own feminism. Ansari identifies as a feminist, and he believes more people should get over their fear of the word and claim the title as their own. According to the comedian, you’re already a feminist if you believe in equal rights and he offered a unique test that you can take as well. Ansari told the Late Night audience:

You’re a feminist if you go to a Jay Z and Beyoncé concert and you’re not like, “I feel like Beyoncé should make 23 percent less money than Jay Z. Also, I don’t think Beyoncé should have the right to vote and why is Beyoncé singing and dancing? Shouldn’t she make Jay a steak? I’m sure he’s very tired after walking and rapping those two songs.”

Well said.

Ariana Grande stopped by Ellen to play the (awkwardly named) game “Who’s In My Bushes?” Grande announced that she will be going on tour in February, starting in Kansas City, and bestowed tickets upon one lucky fan in the audience. She has also, thankfully, stopped wearing those stupid cat ears.

At the SiriusXM Studios in New York City, Dave Grohl interviewed Chelsea Handler about her new deal for Netflix, drug habits, how they disliked each other at first, and which guests she hated to interview on her show. (The answer is reality television stars.) Grohl and Handler have been friends for quite a while, he once guest-hosted Handler’s show for a week when she was away. In the interview snippet below, he thanks Handler and says that even though she’s a “cynical asshole,” she’s still a role model for his daughters. We agree. Handler can be crude on occasion, but she always speaks her mind.

Have a good Wednesday. We’re halfway there.
