Greetings! Top of the Morning is your daily AM news round-up. We paid attention over the weekend and gathered relevant tidbits to share over that first cup of coffee.

Over the weekend, Katy Perry was announced as the official headliner for the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, but she also had a few choice words for the Australian paparazzi. Apparently the singer was enjoying Obelisk Beach when several photographers discovered her location and refused to leave her alone.

She then revealed several of their identities:

And later on in the evening, Perry also named infamous paparazzo Jamie Fawcett; the man once accused of bugging Nicole Kidman’s house.

Obelisk Beach does allow nude sunbathing, but thus far, no such pictures of Perry have been published.

James Blake told the Miami New Times that his new album is almost finished and he’s looking at a Spring 2015 release date. There’s also one interesting name that popped up during the conversation — Kanye West. Blake said that he hopes to collaborate with West on the album and stated, “We haven’t done a great deal of work in the same room yet, but we’ve done a few things, kind of helped each other with our own music. In terms of the actual collaboration for this record, it looks like we should be able to get something done. I know that there’s a specific song I would like him to be on, and if he can do that by the time my record comes out, that would be fantastic.” Blake also happened to mention that he’s recently single, so that had an effect on the making of this album as well.

Bob Geldof has asked the people who already purchased the newest addition of “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” to download and delete it again in order to boost donations. But as FACT points out, that’s actually impossible to do on iTunes; the service allows you to download any previously purchased songs free of charge.

Meanwhile, in an interview with the Daily Mail, Lily Allen explained her absence on Geldof’s single. While he asked her to participate, Allen told the publication, “I prefer to do my charitable bit by donating actual money and not being lumped in with a bunch of people like that. It’s like the ‘Success Club’ and I’m not really in that club. I don’t think I’m above it all – I’m way below it. But there’s something a bit smug about it… I don’t care if Bob’s got the hump with me. I actually don’t mind Bob. He doesn’t give a shit and he’s grumpy, like me.”

Speaking of holiday music, Ariana Grande is adding her track to the pile. The song “Santa Tell Me” has the singer questioning the fidelity of her latest beau and avoiding the mistletoe. It also contains the lyric, “I can’t give it all away if he won’t be here next year.” Subtle.

And here’s Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s performance of “Uptown Funk” from Saturday Night Live, in case you missed it. Happy Monday.
