Now that Team Sleep has reunited and started work on a new record — their first since a self-titled 2005 effort that featured members of Deftones (frontman Chino Moreno) and Death Grips (drummer/producer Zach Hill) alongside welcome guests like Mary Timony and Rob Crow — the band has announced the most ambitious meet-and-greet promotion we’ve ever heard of. Priced at $500 a ticket, the Woodstock Sessions include an intimate live performance, an in-studio Q&A session as they work on new material, a local gourmet meal by Sunfrost Farms, and mementos like a signed silkscreen poster, a CD of previously unreleased recordings, and a limited vinyl LP that captures the collective’s live performance.
“For a long time, business people, logistics, careers, adulthood, families and the House Republicans have thwarted us, but we’ve continued to make music,” the group shared in a statement. “At the same time, the creative process has become increasingly fragmented and dehumanized. With that in mind, we’re very excited to get together with our dear friends, hang out, play music and have a unique experience in a beautiful place. We’d like you to be there, too. Your participation will be essential to the independent creation and release of the live performance and our forthcoming studio record; we look forward to seeing you.”
Interested? Sixty-two tickets remain here, and if you can’t quite rationalize such a steep expense, you can always pre-order the new Team Sleep album and a few other pieces of merch at Pledge Music. In the meantime here are a few teaser videos that have trickled out from the Team Sleep camp over the past month:
