“Further,” the new single from Brooklyn psych-folk band Woodsman, is gorgeous and hazy, ripples of soft guitar expanding like a sunrise across a backdrop of slow-rolling percussion. The song is marvelously measured: it builds slowly, surging and pulsing, gradually gathering momentum until it arrives at the glorious, cacophonous crescendo roughly halfway through. The net effect is wholly transportive, big waves of sound that gather and crash.
The song is the latest offering from the excellent subscription service Singles Club, designed to showcase rising artists.
