Coming soon from — who else? — Burger Records is the debut from Wax Witches, the recording alias of Alex Wall (that’s him in pink above), an Australian whose music falls smack dab in the middle of the incredible underground/garage rock movement happening Down Under these days. “Summer Suckers” is aces, a big blast of sugar and sun that sounds like the Sweet running wild through Dylan’s Candy Bar. The guitars are slick and sticky, and the hollered chorus is one part pixie stick, one part boric acid. It’s as welcome as a popsicle in mid-July.
