Smashing Pumpkins Share Another ‘Monuments to an Elegy’ Song Featuring Tommy Lee

“I basically sang the whole song the first time I wrote it,” Billy Corgan says of the new Smashing Pumpkins single “One and All,” which was premiered on HuffPost Entertainment today. “It had written itself.”

If only the same situation applied to Day for Night, the album Corgan plans on releasing next year as a loosely linked counterpoint to this December’s Monuments to an Elegy LP. “Day For Night, I’ve claimed, is to be something different, advanced somehow in it’s pop-rock-dark-glory,” he explained on the band’s official site recently. “Good: in theory; hard to execute; and that’s nobody’s fault but my own. I, as always, want to push on. Or off the proverbial, and much bantered over, cliff. Good riddance, they’d say. But that’s the stuff of legend. Again, I’ll take the odds.”

Whatever comes of that record, Corgan seems quite content with the group’s next effort, going so far as to call it a “fine and lively work.” Sample its Tommy Lee-backed lead singles down below:
