New Smashing Pumpkins music is now set to arrive early, and the first track from the band’s upcoming album is already available to stream online. Earlier this year, Billy Corgan said the Pumpkins would release two albums in 2015Monuments to an Elegy and Day For Night. As Rolling Stone reports, Monuments is currently scheduled instead for a 2014 release — December 9, to be exact.

Fresh off a deluxe reissue of 1998′s Adore, the Pumpkins have shared Monuments‘ “Being Beige,” which insists that “the world’s on fire” after swelling from sparse beginnings to a full-band performance. “People always ask me to explain songs, and honestly I can’t,” Corgan told RS. “But if there’s honesty in this lyric, it’s that there’s something amiss in our cosmos. Yet still, we must love.”

Corgan has said Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee plays drums on the album, the follow-up to 2012′s Oceania (and next installment in SP’s Teargarden by Kaleidyscope suite).
