A little less than two months after Slowdive played their first show in 20 years the band has lined up a proper North American tour, starting with an October 22 stop in Washington, DC, and winding down on November 8 in Los Angeles.

“North America was good to Slowdive back in the 1990s,” the band said in a press release (via Pitchfork). “The fact that the last Slowdive concert was performed in Toronto (at Lee’s Palace) in 1994 is poignant. It felt like we were playing to people who ‘got it’ and some of our favorite performances were on those tours. We have a special connection to our audience in North America and we can’t wait to return in 2014!”

As for whether we can expect a proper Slowdive LP anytime soon, Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell have both alluded to some loose recording sessions once their touring commitments are over.

“Ultimately that’s our goal, really,” Halstead told Brooklyn Vegan last month. “We’ve never been one of those bands to plan things out. The recording sessions have always been sort of off the cuff. The first album we did was written and recorded in six weeks, and it probably suffers from that. The other records are stronger probably because we had more time actually writing before we went into the studio. But there’s a big part of the band that just works as quite an organic unit. I think that’s the bit that will kick into play with us doing gigs and stuff.”
