The nominations for the 2015 Grammy Awards have been fully announced and that means two things. First, we get a chance to argue about the picks and second, we can see how artists react to finding out they’re up for the industry’s top honor. Scanning the social networks, we found a lot that were a lot of bland variations on, “Thank you, I’m blessed. Wow,” but our favorites are these seven, which each have a bit of class, creativity, and quirk.

Frontrunner Sam Smith took a dramatic approach, keeping a running tally of his nominations while obviously being barely out of his pajamas. When he maxed out at five, he tweeted, “5 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is happening??” with a link to the following Instagram photo:

St. Vincent was floored and, out of all the nominees, we’d put good money on her being the first to figure out time travel.

Arcade Fire went with the “act like you’ve never been there before and might never get there again” approach, which, hey. Respect.

iLoveMakonnen’s was a pretty regular “thank you,” but added in some dragons for good measure.

Tony Bennett, or whomever runs his Twitter feed, kept it all class, recognizing his past as well as his appreciation of Lady Gaga.

The self-deprecating Ryan Adams gave a knowing nod to his fan base, and received a congratulatory tweet from his wife, Mandy Moore (a text wouldn’t suffice?).

And Sia kept it delightfully weird. Congrats to all these nominees for making Grammy nomination day more interesting.
