Ryan Hemsworth has revealed the details around his new record, Alone For the First Time. Due out November 4 through Last Gang and Hemsworth’s own Secret Songs imprint, the effort will be supported by a fall “Sucker For Punishment” tour that starts on November 5 in Charleston, NC, and winds down on December 13 in Boulder, CO.

As for the album’s sound, its lead single (the Dawn Golden feature “Snow in Newark”) suggests a direction that’s subtle and bittersweet, as reinforced by a freshly leaked video that was filmed in Nepal earlier this year.

“This is the second part to the video for ‘One For Me’ — my quest to get out of these clubs and find something different,” Hemsworth explains, referring to the Tinashe collaboration on his last record, Guilt Trips. “I tried to take everything in; overwhelmed in a different way than usual and a hiatus from necessary evils.

He continues, “I’m trying things at a different pace; fighting with expectations and conventional formulas. It’s been a weird time for me, so ‘Snow In Newark’ and the rest of this album are my personal reactions to the current state of electronic and rock music.”
