Reckless abandon that can’t help but be repeated. That’s the theme of “Do It Again,” the dazzling title track from Robyn and Röyksopp‘s excellent new mini-album. And it carried over to the Scandinavian collaborators’ performance of the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. The Swedish pop royal has described working with the Norwegian electronic producers as “very open and very fluid,” and that goes for her lusty dance moves, too. As theBody Talk singer bounded across the stage, the spirit of joyful risk-taking carried over to her flamboyantly out-of-season coat, which she eventually shed, and her impossibly lofty shoes, which she didn’t. Behind Robyn, Röyksopp’s Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland in matching black-and-white garb, while the drummer drove the precariousness home by playing with his face completely covered by one of those bejeweled masks out of Kanye West tours or the Do It Again project’s “Sayit” video. Watch the Kimmel clip below, and then (sorry) watch it again. Also be sure to check out our Do It Again-inspired feature “The Case for the Mini Album”, and hear a snippet of the effort’s majestic opening track, “Monument” in — inauspiciously enough — a Volvo ad. Röyksopp and Robyn’s joint tour brings them to North America for a handful of shows starting August 20 in New York, and you can see the full dates here.
