A potential joint tour with Rihanna and Kanye West has moved one step closer to reality. Late last year, an online auction for Rihanna’s charity included front-row tickets to what it billed as West’s still-unannounced 2015 North American tour. Since then, Rihanna worked with West (and Paul McCartney) on her new single “FourFiveSeconds,” which the three performed at the Grammys.
Now, according to Rolling Stone, Rihanna and West have scheduled their first concert date together. A since-removed listing on the website for Live Nation in Finland billed a “Kanye & Rihanna” show for July 25 in Tallinn, Estonia, with a March 5 on-sale date. (Consequence of Sound has a screen shot of the listing.) West is executive-producing Rihanna’s upcoming album, and she previously opened for him on his 2008 tour. If the two are performing together, odds are it won’t only be in Tallinn.
Rihanna has also revealed another new song, “Towards the Sun,” as Complex notes. This one is from the soundtrack to the Dreamworks movie Home, and it’s the more bombastic sort of anthem that tends to accompany big-budget films, with chant-like male backing vocals. The soundtrack is due out March 17, and the movie will open in theaters on March 29. Listen below.
West, of course, has been preparing a new album of his own, which he has said he will release on an unannounced date. Along with “FourFiveSeconds,” he has also unveiled “Wolves” — which features Sia and Vic Mensa — and McCartney team-up “Only One.” West received the Vision Award at the BET Honors 2015 gala that aired last night; watch his acceptance speech here and watch the likes of Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and Common pay him tribute here.
