The epitome of outlaw country, the Charlie Daniels Band have delivered their brand of foot-stompin 'music for more than three decades. Over the years, they've parlayed their good ol 'boy routine into a lucrative touring machine, and this no-frills, hour-long CD captures the band on the road in 2000, playing shows in Florida, Virginia and in North Carolina, Daniels 'home state. The CDB crank out blue-collar anthems "In America" and "Still in Saigon," alongside crowd pleasers (for crowds below the Mason-Dixon Line, at least) "Simple Man" and the Allman Brothers '"In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." Accompanied by his hard-driving band, Daniels 'fiddle playing sounds red-hot, particularly on signature tune "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," and on the ultimate Southern hymn, "Freebird."
