Over the course of his four-decade career, Blowfly (the masked alter-ego of Miami producer/songwriter Clarence Reid) has compiled a body of work so gleefully raunchy and unapologetically offensive it's a wonder that John Ashcroft didn't have him locked up in Guantanamo Bay as an enemy combatant. Best of Blowfly: The Analthology doesn't quite live up to its promising title, as it compiles mostly less-inspired '80s and '90s material at the expense of such classic '70s "party records" like Zodiac Blowfly and Weird World. But whether he's getting the party started ("Funky Party," "Shake Your Ass"), sending up R&B hits ("Hole Man/Clean Up Woman," "Cum of a Lifetime") or dispensing sage sexual advice ("Rotten Fish," "That's What Your Pussy's Made For") Blowfly's life-long commitment to nastiness is well represented. His vocal abilities may be limited, but Blowfly sure sings "Girl Let Me Cum in Your Mouth" like he means it.
