Clocking in at just under a minute and a half, the title track of the Art Museums’ latest 7-inch is over before it’s even had a chance to begin. But that’s kinda the point with the West Coast duo’s paeans to the pure joy of pop music — lo-fi or otherwise, hooks and choruses always come first, with lean guitar lines and scruffy thrift shop synths nipping at the heels of every note.

Like what you hear but frustrated with the fact that Dancing With a Hole In Your Heart is shorter than many indie rock songs? Be sure to check out Rough Frame, a Woodsist-endorsed mini-LP that also sounds like a sugar-chased shot in the arm.
