A veritable who’s who in Norwegian music, 2007 edition.

Deep is the word that comes to mind when listening to Sunkissed. Geir Aspenes and Ola Smith-Simonsen have been spinning some profound bass at their monthly night (eight years and running!) in Oslo entitled, appropriately, Sunkissed. Their first mix is a veritable hipster who's who in Norwegian music these days: you'll find cosmic disco god Lindstrøm sitting right next to psych rock evangelists 120 Days, while Lindstrøm's favorite artist, Bjørn Torske, sneaks onto the mix with two tracks. Two relative newcomers have the finest moments here, though. Blackbelt Andersen's “Sandoz” is a funkafied slice of disco and Magnus International's “Kosmetisk” is a glittering disco ball of descending arpeggios. (Not coincidentally both can be found on the Full Pupp label, owned by another famous Norwegian, Prins Thomas.)
