Comprised of former members of Queensryche and Alabama group Brother Cane, Slave to the System marries the theatricality of the former with the aggressive meat-and-potatoes rock of the latter. Their self-titled debut is fierce and fiery, driving rock of the same spirit as Guns & Roses. Songs like the album-opening "Stigmata" and "Ruby Wednesday" have bite and bile, and "Gone Today" moves effortlessly from acoustic strum to tumbling chorus. A treasure for fans of undiluted, take-no-prisoners rock and roll.
