Through Silver in Blood

The ambient metal invasion begins here

Over the past 20-plus years, this Bay Area band's music has undergone various evolutions, cycling through hardcore, industrial art-noise and hypnotic tribal dissonance. But it was Through Silver in Blood that lay the groundwork for the ambient metal invasion that would billow through the ether a decade later. The songs are long (five are over nine minutes) and ominous, combining horrific screams, underwater noises and mercuric tendrils of melody into wondrously nightmarish soundscapes. Sleep tight.
