Dusty Neo-Balkan tunes from native Coloradoans.

Along with Tin Hat Trio, Devotchka inject a peculiarly Southwestern sound into their Neo-Balkanist leanings: their dusty, guitar-led tunes often sport Eastern European melodies and a touch of bazouki. “The Enemy Guns” is one of their finest moments, mixing Morricone whistling, a lightly distorted guitar and accordion to evoke the wide open spaces of their native Colorado. Or is that Albania?
