Western swinger and country comedian team up for an instrumental jazz album.

Though they made their names in Western swing (Moore played for years with the legendary Bob Wills) and country comedy (Burns was half of the hilarious hitmaking duo Homer & Jethro), these two mandolinists were also major instrumental jazz talents, as this collaboration from 1979 attests. They shine both individually ("Tiny's Rag," "Jethro's Tune") and in tandem on their interpretations of Count Basie's "Tickle Toe," Bill Monroe's "Moonlight Waltz" and Duke Ellington's "In a Mellotone."
