Strip club anthems are a rite of passage in Atlanta hip-hop, and it’s one Mississippi transplants Rae Sremmurd embrace wholeheartedly on their latest song ahead of January 6 Interscope debut SremmLife. After the success of “No Type” and “No Flex Zone,” the Mike WiLL Made-It-superproduced duo has teamed up with a pair of more established stars for “Throw $um Mo.” Nicki Minaj, fresh off her Saturday Night Live appearance and ahead of December 15′s The Pinkprint, manages to sound fantastically bored on the Franklins-commanding hook; the youthful sing-song of Sremmurd brothers brothers Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee helps smooth out their rather explicit leering, while fellow rising ATLien Young Thug‘s warbling verse veers beyond strict intelligibility. Mike WiLL, with his mesmerizing little synth plinks, remains ever the rainmaker here. Listen below.
