And the Record Store Day announcements keep on coming … This one’s from those old college rock standbys R.E.M., who are celebrating their status as the only act to play MTV’s Unplugged show twice by releasing the decade-spanning sets alongside 11 bonus tracks that never aired. The limited 4xLP collection will be followed by a proper CD/digital release on May 20th, but don’t take that as any indication of a possible reunion down the road.

“The idea of breaking up and not reforming for a reunion tour is kind of attractive to us,” bassist Mike Mills told Rolling Stone last year. “I doubt you’ll see us touring as R.E.M. again. On the other hand, I just played with Peter [Buck] in New York City the other night, so fun things do happen.”

Check out a complete rundown of the 1991 and 2001 shows below along with some old TV footage, and if you’re in Scarborough, Maine on April 19th, you might want to line up outside Bull Moose early, as Mills will be signing the Unplugged sessions at some point during the day…
