Pissed Jeans Form New Bands With Pro Wrestler, No Age

Pissed Jeans have revealed two very different side projects in the past month, beginning with a militant hardcore band named after its masked frontman: pro wrestler Ultramantis Black. According to a press release, it “seeks to further spread his gospel through a relentless musical assault of hardcore cacophony … a godless jihad against those who continue to systematically enslave, torture, and murder the Earth and all innocent and sentient life that exists upon it. Clear missives of animal, earth, and human liberation delivered under the secretive cloak of lucha libre to the soundtrack of blasting audio terrorism.”

Which is really a roundabout way of saying their debut EP (a self-titled effort due out July 8th through Relapse) tackles the same ’90s territory as Earth Crisis. Meanwhile, Rat Fist is a scrappy duo featuring Pissed Jeans drummer Sean McGuinness and No Age guitarist/singer Randy Randall. Their debut LP is still in progress, but some east coast tour dates have been set for June. Check out that itinerary and lead singles from both groups below…
