Mike Hadreas, better known as Perfume Genius, is having quite a year. He released his third album Too Bright in September to widespread critical acclaim; which included a video for the single “Queen” and a performance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

The artist is now on the second leg of a European tour, but he took a moment to address the controversy that Eminem caused earlier this week. In a cypher to promote his new compilation Shady XV, the rapper used the lyrics, “But I may fight for gay rights, especially if they dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/ Play nice? Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/ ’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.”

Hadreas reached out to his fans via Twitter to remind them that they could pick up a little something at his merch table in response to Eminem’s latest antics.

But it didn’t stop there. Hadreas continued:

Shall we all go and join his coven?

After watching Slim Shady use the same tired antics for years, solely for the sake of generating attention, Hadreas’s response perfectly encapsulates our weariness toward this type of intolerance.
