While we’ll now have to wait another month for the next Pains of Being Pure At Heart album — Days of Abandon was moved from an April 22 release to May 13 — frontman Kip Berman has revealed its first official video over at Nylon. Available to stream below, the Bangs-directed “Simple and Pure” imagines a dinner party that unfolds like a Buzzfeed story, one monochromatic GIF at a time.

“I’m taken aback at how many online outlets now reduce their content to a series of GIFs,” explains frontman Kip Berman, “assuming a minute long video or a single paragraph of text to be too burdensome. We’re as much prisoners of our need for constant distraction and instant sensation as the trapped guests at the dinner party.”
