Since you won’t be hearing any Nico on the Velvet Underground’s latest round of reissues, we thought we’d share the next best thing: an expanded vinyl edition of the singer’s fifth collaboration with John Cale, 1974’s The End… LP. Melding Nico’s mournful melodies and spare harmonium parts with Cale’s Swiss Army setup of guitars, percussion, and more, the session also features interstellar synth lines from Brian Eno throughout its eight haunting tracks and a guest appearance by his old Roxy Music bandmate Phil Manzanera on a striking cover of The Doors.

Check out live footage of the very same song below, along with a complete rundown of the record’s bonus tracks.
