Nick Cave has announced a rare solo tour described simply as “a unique show — something special and out of the ordinary.” Set to happen in a handful of European cities next spring, the month-long outing will not be as spare as the singer’s recent solo piano run around the documentary 20,000 Days on Earth. In fact, several current and former Bad Seeds members will back Cave on the trek, including Martyn Casey, Thomas Wydler, Barry Adamson, and his BFF Warren Ellis.

Here’s a spare late-night rendition of “The Mercy Seat” and all the dates and details to give you an idea of what to expect.
