Head Wound City — the impromptu, short-lived hardcore band that brought together members of The Blood Brothers (Jordan Blilie, Cody Votolato), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Nick Zinner) and Locust (Justin Pearson, Gabe Serbian) — have announced their first shows since releasing a self-titled EP in 2005. Set to happen in Los Angeles on September 20 (at BEDROCKtoberfest, which features magic performances and a music bill curated by Zinner) and 21 (at The Smell), they’re only the second and third times the band has ever played together in public.

“The band has been left open-ended over the years,” Head Wound City’s label, Three One G, write in their bio, “and members are optimistic about creating new material in the future.”

Considering how busy Karen O is going to be with supporting her solo album and the fact that the Blood Brothers’s own reunion won’t include a new record, maybe they’ll finally release an album. Or another EP that’s barely 10 minutes…
