Jessie Ware has over a month to go before the release of her second album, but today she tempted the audience with a video for its second single “Say You Love Me.”
Ware spoke previously about the difference between her first album Devotion and the upcoming LP Tough Love. In an interview with Pitchfork, she said, “I doubled my vocal quite a lot; I almost didn’t want people to hear too much of my character. But my vocal is more laid-bare on this one.” The new video reflects that exact sentiment, featuring Ware dressed in black sitting on a stage with a beach backdrop. She faces the camera head on, not confrontational so much as direct, and unafraid of appearing fragile.
The video was directed by Luke White and Remi Weeke, also known as Tell No One, and the single happens to be co-written by no other than Ed Sheeran.
Tough Love will be released October 21 via PMR/Island.
