If you’re already over Jack White’s latest solo LP and would still rather hear a White Stripes record, you might want to take a look at the 21st entry in Third Man’s Vault series. While we’re not sure anyone needs to proclaim their allegiance to the label with a three-by-five-foot flag, the rest of the package is rounded out by two new Dead Weather tracks and the real draw here: Live Under the Lights of the Rising Sun, a double LP capturing the White Stripes’ first two shows in Tokyo. Coming out swinging in the support slot for The′s — the Japanese garage band best known for its Kill Bill cameo — the duo covered everyone from Screaming Lord Sutch (“Jack the Ripper”) to Iggy Pop (“I’m Bored”) and even unveiled an early version of “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground.”
