“Nobody’s Empire” is the opening track of Belle & Sebastian’s forthcoming album Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance. And Stuart Murdoch also claims, “It’s absolutely the most personal [song] I’ve ever written.” Today, the group released a video for their latest single that blends fan and archival footage.
From the press release:
The video combines footage from the album cover shoot – with actor and cover model Tamzin Merchant taking on the role of Stuart Murdoch in this tale of Murdoch’s health problems as a younger man – with over 100 clips received from B&S fans, as well as archival clips from the Scottish Screen Archive at the National Library Of Scotland and the Prelinger Archives.
Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance will be released on Janaury 20, 2015 via Matador.
