In case you couldn’t tell from Mikael Wood’s beaming review or John Morthland’s Six Degrees piece, the Wondering Sound staff was quite into the self-titled debut of Mirel Wagner a few years back. Now that she’s got the support of Sub Pop, the Finnish singer has kept her spine-crawling sound intact while also managing to work alongside the avant-dance producer Vladislav Delay and his longtime friend/collaborator Craig Armstrong, an award-winning composer who also happened to work on Moulin Rouge and Ray.
