Mineral Celebrate 20th Anniversary With Emo-Tastic Reunion Tour

Not to be outdone by American Football’s reunion announcement earlier this week, Mineral have revealed a 20th anniversary run that starts with two New York dates in early September and winds down with a Gainesville festival appearance on November 2.

“Reconnecting with each other and this material for the first time in 17 years has been a real joy and pleasure,” frontman Chris Simpson said in a press release. “The shows will be the icing on the cake. We are grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to getting to play for all the people who have loved us all along, as well as the many who have discovered us posthumously along the way.”

Mineral broke up before their final album (1998′s EndSerenading) was even released, leaving Simpson to form the Gloria Record with bassist Jeremy Gomez and drummer Gabriel Wiley to explore his own Pop Unknown project. Simpson also plays under the name Zookeeper sometimes. Check out the dates and details for Mineral’s tour below, along with a live set from 1997…
