It’s every record collector’s dream. According to the Village Voice, Academy Records’ Cory Felerman was picking through a box of discarded vinyl outside a bodega on 1st Avenue when he noticed a Yoko Ono “Open Your Box” 45 was among the rest of the selections. Only about six copies are known to exist, so Felerman ended up scoring close to $2,000 on eBay for his find.
Bobby Shmurda has created an app for his famous “Shmoney Dance” that allows you to paste your own photo into a variety of backgrounds and create a GIF. You could dance like Drake or Rihanna, or choose to join Shmurda in the video for “Hot N***a” among other options. Shmurda recently had his bail extended on a felony gun charge and is due back in court for a hearing at the end of January. He also released the video for “Bobby Bitch” earlier this month, which relies heavily on gun-related scenarios and imagery.
According to FACT, Diplo publicly endorsed a Kickstarter that one of his fans created to “Get Taylor Swift a Booty” after the producer made a joke about Swift’s backside on Twitter. However, Lorde stepped in to prove that no one messes with her groups of friends and immediately rectified the situation.

You do have to wonder what it’s like to be a 36-year-old man who just got completely decimated by an 18-year-old woman for body-shaming her friend.
I’ll take Beyoncé for $800, Alex. On Monday evening, the artist had an entire Jeopardy category to herself. Can you imagine Trebek saying, “Beyoncé for $1000: Jay Z is featured on this Beyoncé song that mentions ‘that liquor get into me”? Also, who doesn’t know the answer to that question? We be all night…
Rosetta’s Plasma Consortium discovered that Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is “singing” out there into the vastness of space. The principal investigator Karl-Heinz Glaßmeier describes it as, “a ‘song’ in the form of oscillations in the magnetic field in the comet’s environment. It is being sung at 40-50 millihertz, far below human hearing.” Naturally the Consortium released the comet’s new “track,” which sounds suspiciously like the Predator. (How long before Aphex Twin remixes it? Let’s take bets.)
Yesterday we had Karen O in Target’s holiday campaign, and today we’ve got “Weird Al” Yankovic in a new holiday-themed commercial for Radio Shack. What day is it again? Don’t we still have two weeks to go until Thanksgiving?
Earlier this week, Sharon Osbourne announced on her show The Talk that the Osbourne family was currently in the process of filming an update of their reality series, which aired nearly a decade ago. MTV News reported that they won’t be returning to reality TV full-time, but there will be six to eight new episodes of good-old wholesome family fun with Ozzy and the gang. It’s unclear as to whether or not the show will find its home on MTV again, but Sharon Osbourne did mention that their catalyst for getting in front of the camera was her husband. Apparently, Ozzy wanted to do an update of the show while he’s clean and sober.
