“Howlin’ Face,” the latest from San Francisco electro-folk duo Yesway, starts with harplike fingerpicked guitar punctuated by electronic pings and bleak, muted beats, as Emily Ritz and Kacey Johansing sing about a coming storm with howling dogs and falling trees being struck by lightning. Like a storm’s cycle, the calm is disrupted as the guitar gets swallowed up by synths, bells and chilly drum beats, before it finally returns to the breezy verse it started with.
