The vocals are deep in the distance on “When I See You,” the second song on Viscous Liquid’s Songs for Jealous Lovers. That suits the dreamlike mood of the song — anything crisper or more distinct would spoil the mystery. Viscous Liquid is the product of Reading musician Rhys Williams, and on Lovers he delivers the same kind of blissfully glazed-over jangle-pop once offered by bands like Felt and the Field Mice. “When I See You” is marvelously sunny — soft-focus pop music that’s gentle and soothing.
