Cleveland hardcore marauders Ringworm aren’t interested in reinventing the genre. Instead, what they do — and do well! — is deliver one brainsplitting riff after another, driving them downward like an old drill into burnt wood. “Bleed,” from their just-released Hammer of the Witch, is a perfect showcase for all they do well. It’s a hair-raising plunge into the abyss with lyrics depicting worldwide catastrophe and destruction, a gruesome Francis Bacon painting come to life.
