Folks who continue to refer to Parquet Courts as Pavement’s second coming will have a hard time wrapping their head around PCPC, a self-proclaimed “NY noise-rock confederacy … born out of an aesthetic solidarity” with PC Worship “to create something new.” In the case of “Fell Into the Wrong Crowd,” this amounts to 11 minutes of tortured avant-rock transmissions that explain why the group opened for Thurston Moore over the past week — because they sound like an old Sonic Youth record that’s been dragged through the mud and set on fire.
