A rip-roaring, chest-whalloping blast of early ’70s proto-punk style rock & roll (think MC5 and Radio Birdman), “No Time For the Blues” is a hurricane frantically searching for a home to wreck. Frontman Orville Bateman Neeley III delivers the lyric that gives the song its name with bug-eyed ferocity — he actually sounds like a man with no time for sorrow — and the biker gang of guitars roaring behind him only adds to the song’s chaotic drive.
