Dana Falconberry’s latest recording is a sharp turn away from her 2012 LP Leelanau, a collection of folky and nature-based songs named for spots in northern Michigan. Her dark, atmospheric new track “Palmless,” recorded in Austin with Spoon’s Jim Eno, is mostly synthetic, with steady tambourines, a repetitive guitar pattern and clicking drum-machine beats. Her ethereal voice fits seamlessly into both worlds.
