Johnny Jewel keeps opening up his vaults on SoundCloud, and we’re not complaining. A standout so far from his recent posts was “The Last Dance,” released for a change under his own name. But the Italians Do It Better producer and scorer for Ryan Gosling’s new film Lost River has been rifling through his archives for all kinds of rarities, including various demos and outtakes by his group Chromatics. The latest is the previously unreleased “White Light,” which doesn’t break new ground for the group but is yet another winding, slow-motion reverie. “White light/ do you still dream of me?/ I am so lonely in this world,” Ruth Radelet murmurs coolly amid brittle guitars and gauzy synths. She doesn’t specify the source of this beacon, but zoning out and focusing on it is easy. (via Gorilla vs. Bear)
